I am a huge fan of Chuck, so when the first season ended unexpectedly due to the writer strike, I was pretty bummed. Now season 2 begins Sept. 29 and I’m pretty hyped, especially after watching this Comic Con Footage:

Chuck official site

MGM just confirmed that David Self, the writer for the new Robocop is also working on the GOW movie with Brett Ratner set to direct?

“David Self’s credits include 13 Days and Road To Perdition. He wrote God of War for Universal, to which Brett Ratner is attached to direct, and was a writer on Universal’s Wolfman currently in production. He is represented by UTA and attorney Karl Austen.”

I hope this is not true. Watching him tank on his last two movies (X-Men: The Last Stand and Rush Hour 3) made me lose confidence in him as a director. Brett, just sit on your money pile, and once it runs out there is always Rush Hour 4. Leave GOW alone. Let Uwe Boll direct it….LOL. God help us if that man touches this movie.

MGM Press Release

IGN got a new Street Fighter IV trailer up. It’s more of an extended trailer from E3 with new footage of the Focus Attack System. This game is going to be sick.

Check it out here.

Here are the two new Max Payne movie posters. Personally I like the one on the left. Reminds me more of the video game.

Movie Info

This game has been in developmental hell for so long. First they went with the Unreal Engine and things did not work out. So they sued Epic Games, and started working on Too Human all over again with their own game engine. It’s been a long time coming, but will the game be worth it? It depends.

If you are expecting to get blown away by the awesomeness of the graphics, please lower your expectations. For a game that has been in development for so long, the graphics are good, but they are not great; the graphics just seems a bit choppy. Maybe it’s the art style they were shooting for. Since the game is only a month away, there will probably be no time to improve on the graphics.

The game play, just like the graphics are good, but not great. It takes a while to get used to using the right analog stick for melee attacks. In most conventional third-person games, you would use the right analog to control the camera, but in Too Human the LB button controls the camera in a very limited way. The cameras are horrible in the game. The only camera function in the game is pressing the LB button to center the camera behind your player, and holding down the LB and using the right analog stick to look around the environment. This is ok when you are not fighting, but when you are fighting the camera mechanics just goes out the window. Most enemies will be off screen when you are fighting them so you really do not know where they are. Plus,  the camera tends to zoom in  so this makes it even more confusing on the locations of the enemies.

Don’t get me wrong I enjoyed the demo. It just took a while to get used to it. I love the fact that you can customize your characters, and the many variations in the armor and weapons. Overall however, this game did not live up to the hype.  I hope Too Human 2 will revamp the whole camera and combat system. Maybe then it’ll be a keeper instead of a rental…I’ll probably still end up getting it LOL.

Game Detail

I got the chance to catch The Dark Knight last Saturday, and I must say, this might be one of the best comic book movies I have ever seen. It’s in the top 5 for sure. I had high expectations for this movie and it lived up to it.

It was surreal leaving the theater and knowing that this is the last time we will see Heath Ledger on the big screen. This was a performance of a lifetime for him. Jack who? Ledger owned this role. He was so sadistic and unpredictable as the Joker. He took joy in the misery of others, especially Batman.

I was one of those people who was against giving him the Oscar just because he died, but after seeing his performance as the Joker…somebody please give this man his Oscar. No need to wait till next year.

I also found this pretty cool montage of the Joker on YouTube.

Since comic book movies are all the rage these day, I got to thinking, who would I cast if I was making a Y: The Last Man movie? For those of you who do not know what Y: The Last Man is, check out this link.

Yorick Brown

Yorick Brown, an amateur magician/escape artist, and his monkey Ampersand are the last surviving males on earth.

The two actors that I could see playing the role of Yorick Brown would be Shai LaBeouf or Justin Long, but I would have to give the edge to Shai. He has the look and the charisma to play the role.

Agent 355

Agent 355, Yorick’s personal bodyguard

The person who plays the role of Agent 355 would have to be able to hold her own against the Daughters of the Amazon, and all the other crazed female lunatics in this man-less world. The only person that I could think of to play this role would have to be Naomie Harris. We last saw her playing Calypso in Pirates of the Caribbean. If she can hold her own against zombies in 28 Days Later, then she can hold her own against sexually repressed women.

Dr. Allison Mann

Dr. Mann is a geneticist, who joins Yorick and Agent 355 trek across the country.

I thought Moon Bloodgood would be pretty good in this role as Dr. Allison Mann. She was last seen in Journeyman and will be starring in the new Terminator movie.

Latino Review got some new pictures up for the upcoming Summer movies Watchmen, and Terminator Salvation. Those images of Rorschach and the Nite Owl looks spot on.

Oh, and there’s an image from Harry Potter and the Half-Blooded Prince, if your into that sort of thing. Sorry not my kind of movie.

The song playing in the new Watchmen trailer is by the Smashing Pumpkins. It’s called The Beginning Is the End Is the Beginning, and it’s from their Rarities and B-Sides album. You can grab the single from iTunes for $.99 if you don’t want to buy the whole album.
